Great games for a five-minute break

Not every game needs an hour. Some of my favorites are the ones I can dip into for a few minutes and put down without regret.

Casual games with a tight loop shine here. Big Bass Splash is a good example, a simple cast-and-reel that fits perfectly into a bus ride or a coffee queue.

Arcade racers work too, since a single track takes a couple of minutes. Short, self-contained runs are the whole point.

The trick is finding games that don't nag you to keep playing. The best short-session games are happy to be closed and picked back up whenever.
